Project Connect Blue Line Open House (Ruiz Branch Library)
June 17 @ 4:30 pm - July 18 @ 6:30 pm
What: Capitol Metro will host a series of open house events this week regarding the agency’s proposed Blue Line Corridor. At the open houses, attendees will have the opportunity to talk with project team members and provide feedback.
The Blue Line Corridor, approximately 12 miles in length, would connect the Austin Community College Highland Campus through Downtown Austin to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The Blue Line would offer high-capacity transit that operates along Trinity Street, over Lady Bird Lake, and along East Riverside Drive to the airport. The population is expected to grow along the proposed Blue Line corridor by 86% between 2010 and 2040 and this faster, reliable service is intended to provide better access to key activity centers and job opportunities for many Austin residents. This is one of the corridors included in Capital Metro’s Project Connect Long Term Vision Plan aimed at providing high-capacity transit options in Austin
