Smart Trips Austin: Family Ride to Day at the Races | Bike Ride

Join Smart Trips as they take a spin to Austin’s primer bicycle racing festival! They will have free popsicles and refreshments at the ride start for all participants. This will be a great opportunity for the whole family to explore the Southern Walnut Creek Trail, one of Austin’s best-designated bike paths while getting a front-row seat to the most exciting bicycle race in Texas! See a Smart Trips ambassador for free travel guides and materials!
They will ride along the Southern Walnut Creek Trail from Govalle Park to the Driveway Bicycle Race. The route will be on bike paths and quiet neighborhood roads. Kids under 10 years old can participate in the free kid’s race. Woom bikes will also be set up with free kids demo bikes and an obstacle course! For parents, there will be drinks and a food truck.
What you can bring: Bike locks, personal water bottles, blankets, your kids, your childhood friend, your next-door neighbor or partner-in-crime. Feel free to bring your own bike lights if you have them, but we will also provide some. Kid-friendly event. Helmets are required for children under 18.
5:30 pm Meet at Govalle Neighborhood Park [ 5200 Bolm Rd, Austin, TX 78721]for Popsicles and refreshments
5:50 pm Approximately 20-minute slow-paced ride to the event. [on the Southern Walnut Creek Trail!]
6:15 pm Arrive at the Driveway
7:45 pm meet by the front gate of Driveway and ride back
*** please note: Entry for the kids race is free, however, parents will need to sign a waiver with the race organizers.
